Hola, just finished my first summer session. Eagerly awaiting the results. I already know econ won't be pretty but it's okay. Truth is, I loved that class. It's the best class I've taken ever. It made it clearer that economic development is definitely what I want to do.

I am currently in hibernation mode. I'm not letting myself get up from bed until Monday. Except to pee, I suppose? I got lots of fruits & veggies, tv, books, magazines and my lovely laptop.

I finished my last final Thursday at 6pm and already start school on Monday. I had Friday off, but went to work all day so that does not really count. I did errands after work. Picked up my new purple glasses and so I can finally see! By Friday night I was happily in bed eating a Nugget sandwich, guacamole and apple juice. I watched 2/3 of Laguna Beach Season 2.

I need a new bike so I can go take a ride through the farmlands. I'm kind of missing home a bit though. Los Angeles was the best place to grow up, I'm so blessed. I cannot wait to live by the beach or on a farm somewhere. Although, I do love the city life so I'd have to be somewhere close enough to visit.

I'm half asleep so I'm blabbing. I want to watch Cidade de Deus and Almost Famous again. I've watched both about 30 times this summer. On Friday after work, I get to go watch 500 Days of Summer.

What I want most right now is to be at airports, on airplanes, getting lost on public transportation in foreign countries, getting submerged in languages.

6 weeks until I go to El Salvador, and I am so incredibly excited.
My mom and dad told me that I needed new light rtw clothes for the my trip. They said the weather requires cotton dresses so they would take me shopping before my trip. I am so excited that I get to be there for Dia de Independencia. I gotta share this with you all, the last time I was in El Salvador was in 1993!

I start my new classes on Monday. They are the complete opposite of what I've been taking lately. A sociology class for my Communication major and a Spanish literature for my International Relations major. I got the reader for my Spanish class and started reading about posmodernismo y vanguardismo hispanoamericano, I missed literature. It'll be good for my soul.

Speaking of good for the soul, my father is lagging on my graduation present. I need to be in South Africa for the World Cup 2010. However, if that does not work out, I'm thinking Brasil? Uma férias em sons de Brasil maravilhoso, queimado pelo sol nas praias belas.

Sometimes I think I really should have been a linguistic major. Amo los lenguajes. Perhaps that is why The Tower of Babel has always been one of my favorite 'stories'.

I'll leave you with one last thing, proof I've been at my job way too long: I got a lifetime pass. I work for a transit company and I now get free rides my whole life :)

D'yer M'ker is the best summer song. It pretty much sums up everything I'm feeling.

oh' oh oh oh oh oh oh.
