"Working"

My co-workers think I'm weird because this is the background pic on my desktop at work. I think it's incredibly beautiful. A little child running through the rice fields of Bangladesh; despite living in obvious 'misfortune', he seems -at this particular moment, at least- blissful. These are the moments we should acknowledge and appreciate a bit more. I mean, realistically, everything is meant to be temporary, so, why not? I'm having one of those days where I give the socially constructed concept of time way too much importance. I wish I could be in two places at once. My evening class has been canceled which is awesome because now I can go to Bikram (esp since I missed Monday) and yesterday's session was amazing. However, my friend just sent me a text message telling me that Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank Justin Yifu Lin will be giving a free lecture on campus today. I think going to this lecture will be extremely interesting. Sometimes I forget how incredibly lucky I am to be a student in a 'prestigious' institute. As much as I hate the politics of economics, I really think I need to buckle down because that is the field I want to pursue. Anyway, I know Bikram is always there and I'm going tomorrow anyway but I really wish I could go to both. Okay, going off topic and I need to get back to work. I just wanted to share the photograph

Voxtrot "Honey Bee".  Fun fact: my name means 'honey bee' in Greek :]

UPDATE: Lecture is full, a couple of us are chilling outside hoping to get in but seems like all the economists in northern California stuffed themselves into the lecture hall. Sucks, I wish students, especially those of us who go here and study economic development, could have a chance to listen to the lecture. Hmph.
