I had to learn the hard way

now I understand why people say that hook-ups are not a good idea.
someone always ends up getting hurt.

a pedagogical week

*two rather stylish Palestinian young women walking next to a destroyed Palestinian home. Rather interesting contrast, no?

I'm only doing this because I have a final in exactly one hour.

Technology amazes me, I literally JUST took my macroeconomics final about two hours ago and my grade is already online; I am pleased to say that I have officially survived [and passed] macro.
I guess I should be studying for my next final, but it's an essay so there really isn't a way to prepare. We are going to watch an episode of The Office and relate it some of our readings and analyze it. After that I can finally relax. I'll be studying for Arabic which should be fun.

ohmyflippin'gee it's ridiculously hot here. I am really nervous for the second half of my summer in Davis because I've heard that the weather gets so extreme. I can't wait until the summer nights though :)
They must compensate for the fact that I'll be stuck in my office & in class the whole day.
But before all of that is Chile; I am so excited, it's kind of ridiculous.

All in all, I am really distraught that I will not be home for such a long time; it has been 4 months since I've seen my parents and G_d knows how long since I've seen my friends. I miss them all so much. My best friend Angel is supposed to come up this weekend but I doubt he will. I think the first thing I'll do when I go home is go to the water park with my baby brother; the second thing I'll do is go to the beach. If I had money I'd go home this weekend. I can't bear the thought of not seeing my parents for 5 months. I guess that's the price I pay, eh?

I absolutely love finals time in Davis [or any school for that matter].

l Iove being on campus and reading. I love to people watch. I love seeing the frantic students and the last minute cram sessions. I love study groups. I love the smell of coffee brewing from the minute I step off the bus. I LOVE griffin lounge and all the crazy caffeinated insomnia affected students in their sweat pants and messy hair. I love all the junk food scattered everywhere because finals week is the only acceptable time to ruin your body with that junk. I love reading Facebook statuses of my fellow classmates. I love hearing how their papers are going and how they can't wait for finals to be over so they can get drunk and go to the beach. I LOVE the feeling of printing out a paper minutes before it's due. That adrenaline rush is incomparable. I love all the restaurants and cafes in Downtown Davis because all the tables are filled with scattered notes, laptops, food, and books. I love how professors and T.A.s are so helpful even at the last minute. I love how our school caters to our needs. I love that the Unitrans buses are packed with poor students frantically reading and re-reading their notes. I love that there are no seats at the Coho and the MU because everyone is attempting to concentrate. What I love the most, though, is when the students run into each other and sincerely wish their fellow classmates good luck on finals. It always makes me smile and makes me realize how lucky I am to be here.

it's not over 'till the fat lady sings.

taking notes in macro

In theory, I want an older man; someone with more life experience, someone who can teach me things, someone I can look up to. I seem to attract older men; perhaps it is my tiny-ness, gross. Whatever it may be, I always tend to sabotage it between us. Why? because it theory it sounds good, you know? A serious and mature twenty-something-year-old. In reality, I want someone to make mistakes and learn what life is all about with.

my current obsession is my weight; everywhere I go I am reminded that I am no longer a size 1. That's really my new goal.
All I want to be is a size 1 and weight 95 pounds.I find myself questioning EVERYTHING I eat. I look at the calories and make sure it's not too exceeding. I find myself in binding situations where I have to eat what people are offering so I won't be rude, but really I have come to hate eating. That makes me slightly sad because I love food. I have always been those type of girls who believe that we should not restrict ourselves in what we want to eat as long as we are being rational and proportionate. I hate to say this, but I don't feel sympathy for overweight people (myself included). Unless it is genetic or a disease, I feel that obesity can be prevented as long as we are smart about the way we eat!
I know personally I've made many mistakes with food. I'm trying to overcome them. I still believe in damage control every so often. I don't recommend it to anyone else. I believe in exercise more than anything. Ever since I started working out I fit into my clothes way better and my stomach is getting fit. You wanna know the best part? Feeling my pelvic bone pop out and my rib cage start go show through. I'm politically incorrect, I know. Two words: Blair Waldorf.

am I weird for not using tampons or thongs?
I like myself.

why do guys like blow jobs so much?
it's dirty and unsanitary.

I watched Sex and the City tonight; I must admit that as a faithful fan of the show I was rather disappointed. It was cute and of course the clothes were amazing but it left me wanting more.

it's always the penultimate

I am not short

Dear G_d, please let me survive until Thursday, then I can die.

I had not seen my arabic tutor Dima in a couple of months; I saw her today and the first thing she told me was that I lost a lot of weight.
That made me happy; my stomach is so angry right now.

I hate Griffin Lounge; I hate always hate the penultimate week.

another notch on the bedpost

Blair: Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. It's been... a while since my last confession.
Priest: What troubles you, my child?
Blair: (sighs) After being broken up with my boyfriend for exactly 20 minutes, I succumbed to inebriation, performed at a speakeasy, and surrendered my virtue to a self-absorbed ass. The only good news is that he's a total pig who'll act like it never happened, thank God.
Priest: Ahem.
Blair: Sorry. Truthfully, I'm not even Catholic.
Priest: You don't say.
Blair: Losing my virginity to Chuck Bass? None of my friends will ever understand. I'm ready for my punishment. Whatever you and God think is fair. Flogging, fasting, or putting that thing with the teeth around my thigh like Silas.
Priest: How about some food for thought instead? Don't drink, keep your clothes on, try avoiding those who might cause you to stray.

I'll upload last night's pics as soon as I find my camera.

back to finals...
ٍِإن شاءالله
